Hello!

My name is Emily. This is a portfolio of my designs. My inspiration comes from nature, geometric shapes, and sustainable methods.

Corset

A ten-week long creation. One of my favorite pieces I have ever made. The fabric is a perfect mirror on the front and back.

Collection

This collection is inspired by Granada, Spain. I designed and sewed these four outfits to display at a fashion show at my university. The colors and motifs are inspired by the Alhambra in Granada. I was mesmerized by them and incorporated them into this collection.

Swimsuit Design and PDF Pattern

I created this one-piece swimsuit and developed a PDF pattern for it. I sell this pattern on Etsy. Recently, I’ve created two more patterns. A bottom and a one-shoulder top to make a unique bikini. I designed it in 7 different sizes.

Basket Weaving

Like many people, I found myself staying inside much more than normal thanks to this pandemic. I took advantage of the time by learning a new skill. It may sound like a joke, but I really did take up basket weaving. I am new to this but I am eager to learn new techniques.

Fashion Projects

My first creative outlet and the one I practice most often is fashion design. I love making items that are sustainable in some way. I do this through upcycling clothing items or by finding fabric from deadstock sellers.

My fashion designs often are reflective of my personal views of cultural appreciation and equality. My fashion collection is based on my travels in Spain.

Digital and Graphic Designs

I use digital designs to make mood boards, digitize patterns, logo design, and printable art. It is an extremely useful tool that I use to organize and inspire my designs.

Photography

One of my favorite ways to begin designing is to study photographs that I’ve taken. The picture I took in Granada, Spain inspired my collection.

Photography functions, for me, as a way to savor a moment in time when I felt happy or awestruck. Many of my photos are of nature, which is a huge inspiration for my designs.
